Abdul Majeed Waris has been yet again linked with a return to the French Ligue next season.
This time, to Stade Rennes, as carried by France-based portal 20minutes.
The diminutive forward who previously had a successful half-season loan stint at Valenciennes in January 2014, has struggled to fit in well at Turkish side Trabzonspor - a club he signed for from Russia’s Spartak Moscow in September 2014.
Waris failed to nail a regular spot and got further undone by a long injury layoff which ruled him out of the 2015 Afcon.
He has however been constantly linked to many French clubs since the last transfer window and now it is Rennes who previously have had compatriots John Mensah, Asamoah Gyan and John Boye in their books who have jumped to the fore to snap him up.
Rennes are on a squad beefing up mission and have already signed three players ahead of the official opening of the summer transfer window on July 1.
The 23-year-old has also recently been mentioned as a possible bait in Trabzonspor’s cash plus player offer to Hull City. The Turkish side is said to be offering the English Championship club a cash of 3 million euros plus the Ghanaian international and one other player (Mustapha Yatabare) in exchange for Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic.
