Former national Under-20 and Asante Kotoko defender, William Thompson, currently in the United Kingdom without official leave (AWOL) is expected in the country in the next few days to hold talks with the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the Football Association.
The talks, Soccer Express, gathered are expected to centre on the player's possible move to a Division One side in England.
A source close to Thompson who spoke to Soccer Express from London was tight-lipped on the particular club but was optimistic that the player has won the confidence of officials of that club.
And as a prelude to the separate talks with the two bodies, the source revealed that William Thompson has already requested Asante Kotoko through the F.A to avail the English club with video clips of him in action.
Thompson who left the shores of the country some three months ago went to France from London but has since returned to London where he is leaving no stone unturned to secure a club before the European pre-season tours begin.
Soccer Express gathered that apart from his serious search for a club Thompson has been playing actively on Sundays for fun and to keep the body as fit as possible with fellow Ghanaian footballers currently in that country.
Some of the players who normally play in North London with Thompson include Joe Sam, Osei Boateng and Philip Opoku Sampene all former Kotoko and national stars.
