Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Herbert Addo says their President Cup win over their bitterest rivals, Asante Kotoko will be a morale booster for his team in their subsequent league games in the ongoing First Capital Plus Bank Premier League.

The Phobians on Wednesday at the Accra sports stadium defended their President’s Cup trophy they won 2 years ago, beating Asante Kotoko 5-4 on penalties after it ended goalless in regulation time.

“Winning the trophy against Kotoko for me is a morale booster for my team and I’m also happy that we won the trophy, the most important thing is our position on the league but from supporters point of view if things don’t go well then the technical team is not competent but a team is made up of Board of Directors, Management but in Ghana is always technical team who are been used as scapegoat,” coach Addo said in a post-match interview.

The veteran trainer reiterated that his team is very young and is on course to build a better team for the future.

“As I always say my team is very young but unfortunately things has not been going well in the league but is better late than never because I’m grooming the players, they are jelling and so this group of players to me is the team for the future, but we have to encourage them to win whatever comes to their way.”

Hearts of Oak on Sunday will face Hasaacas at home on match day 21 of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League.
