Cape Coast, April 17, GNA - A late strike by substitute, Henry Baffoe enabled Sekondi Wise-Fighters to gain a 2-1 victory over Cape Coast Venomous Vipers in a friendly soccer match at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium in Cape Coast on Sunday.
Just after referee Jeffery Amamoo signalled for the commencement of the match, it was Wise-Fighters who dictated the pace of the game and scored the opener in the 10th minute through outside left, Bart Plange. The left-winger, after collecting a midfield pass, rounded up two defenders in a row before he delivered a shot to the blind side of the keeper and contained the lead till the end of the first half.
Vipers resumed the second half in an all-attacking mood and forced Wise-Fighters to play in their own half and it came as no surprise when outside right, Charles Mensah levelled up the scores in the 60th minute. The game from then on became balanced and when the match seemed to be ending in a draw, substitute Baffoe exploited a defensive blunder by Vipers to score the match winner on the 90th minute mark.
