A former player of King Jesus Stars in Asamankese was also once a member of the Unde-20 side of Liberty Professionals and Kumasi Asante Kotoko before leaving for South Africa.

He played for Manning Rangers before joining Sylva Stars where he became the second top scorer in the Division One League of South Africa recording 20 goals.

Kyei has also had stints with clubs in the French Division two as well as Singapore.
