Accra, Aug 1, GNA - Mr Vincent A. Arhin, former head of the national table tennis team, the Black Loopers has been asked by the National Sports Council (NSC) to resume duty with immediate effect.
His recall is in furtherance to a letter No. 4808/2005/894 issued by the Commission for Human and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) dated 07/07/05, which asked the Council to review its earlier decision of transferring the coach to the Western Region.
The coach was asked to proceed on a transfer to the Western Region in 2003 after he was indicted by a Commission of Enquiry for including Solomon Akunor for the Under-18, category of the Africa Table Tennis Youth Championship hosted by Ghana in 2003 even though the player was above the age group.
This led to the disqualification of Ghana from that category. The coach however protested against the transfer and petitioned the CHRAJ.
CHRAJ subsequently ruled in favour of the coach and went ahead to instruct the Council to reinstate the coach to his former position. A letter signed by Samuel Amankwah, Deputy Director (Administration) on behalf of the Acting Chief Executive of the NSC sighted by the GNA Sports, said the management of the Council has decided to properly reconstitute the Committee in line with NSC Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Labour Act, 651, to investigate the incident to its logical conclusion.
The coach on resumption of duty is supposed to report to the Chief Development officer, his immediate superior, the letter stated. Coach Arhin confirmed the latest development when the GNA Sports contacted him and said he is preparing himself to move back to his former office, which has been under lock for sometime now.
