Ghana has begun preparations for the Euro-Africa Zone II Davis Cup challenge against Slovenia in April. The local squad made up of Fred Egyir, Kwasi Ahenkora and Henry Adjei Darko (pictured) have began earnest preparations at the Accra Sports Stadium tennis courts.
The four foreign-based players, led by U.K-based Gunther Darkey, are expected to join their colleagues sometime next month.
The event will be staged at the Accra Sports Stadium tennis courts from April 4 –6.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Tennis Association’s Open Championships will get underway at the Accra Sports Stadium tennis courts from February 28 to March 8.
The Open, which is aimed at whipping up enthusiasm in the sport, will have four events.
Competitors will compete in the Men’s Open Singles, Ladies Open Singles, Boys Under 16 and Girls Under 14 events.
