KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in conjunction with Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) and Creating Opportunities (CO ) Foundation are to jointly sponsor junior tennis players to South Africa, Ghana and other countries for a training tour.
The Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) President, Engineer Sani Ndanusa who disclosed this in Abuja, said the partnership would led to the development of tennis talents in Nigeria.
According to Ndanusa, the foundation is an NGO which has been in Nigeria for three years with the sole objective of helping young people create future for themselves and with the support of KLM and the Netherlands Embassy.
The trio of Kenny Idoko, Sunday Emmanuel and Emmanuel Dickson have been to Holand and some African countries for training tours.
Idoko, Ndanusa revealed, has been representing Nigeria in Johannesburg, South Africa in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and his performance has been outstanding, the same goes from Emmanuel who would be representing the country in Ghana and Togo soon.
Idoko who represented Nigeria recently in the African Junior Championship and got to the finals has just been give seven weeks to train in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia all sponsored by KLM through free tickets.
Ndanusa assured both Tombo, North Central District Manager of KLM and Drs. Bart A. Van Der Grinten, Chairman of CO Foundation of the players determination to excel.
