Owusu Ansah: Ghana will never lack tennis players

Just after the 2014 D.J. Hathramani Table Tennis Championship, Head Coach of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Anthony Owusu Ansah says Ghana will never lack Ping Pong players due to the advanced plans put together by the Association.

10 competitions are normally organized by the Association and other individuals for a calendar year to be able to equip and develop new talents in the country.

50 table tennis players were in a fierce battle over the weekend, as 30 tennis players among the 50 were from outside the regional capital.

The development of the game, which has seen the Table Tennis Association travel the length and breadth of the country to tap talents for the various national teams, will continue after the Association stages one of the most anticipated annual championship in the history of Ping Pong.

Anthony Owusu Ansah, coach of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, believes with time and patience, Ghana will be able to produce world class players for future assignments.

“There are some programs and some competitions and we believe that, with time and patience, we will be able to produce and tap talents for the future.”

“The D.J Hathramani championship is an annual competition which aims at producing talents but there are other programs that we are hoping will be able to help produce talents for the National teams.”

“Ghana will never lack Ping Pong players if we keep our focus and make sure we follow the calendar.”
