Paa Grant and Ebo win TOR internal doubles tourney

Paa Kofi Grant and Ebo Hayfron have won the 2019 TOR Internal Tennis Tourney after beating stiff competition from Ismailia Lamptey of BabooSports and his partner Mr Joseph Tei. The duo, Paa Grant and Ebo Hayfron won 4-6,6-1,7-5.

Paa Grant and Ebo Hayfron had earlier conquered Lawyer Aidoo and Olewu and OB 6-1 in the quarterfinals.

The duo also defeated Baayawa and OB 6-3 in the semifinals before finishing with Ismailia Lamptey and Mr Joseph Tei in the finals.

Tournament runners (Ismailia Lamptey and Mr Joseph Tei) ousted Peter Asiedu/ Kwame Ansah Fred 6-1 in the quarterfinals and continued with a 7-5 win over Napo Woble and Michael Adade in the semifinals but lost to the eventual winners Paa Kofi Grant and Ebo Hayfron.

The one-week tourney which was hugely patronized was full of excitement.

The main rules for the tourney was below fifty years players pairing up with above fifty years players.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org Chairman of the club Edward Ababio also known as Opoley said “since we came from exile this is our first internal tourney and I'm happy that people who stopped playing are back on the courts again”

“Our main objective for the week-long tournament was to attract more people to the club, also for club unity and club fitness of the members,” Chairman Ababio stressed on.

The chairman Ababio later expressed his appreciation to the members for their participation in the one-week tournament.
