Akosombo VRA Tennis Club, last Saturday put up a plucky performance to defeat Tamale NEDCO Tennis Club Tema 5-4 in their friendly competition played at the Akosombo Tennis Courts.

The game which was aimed at strengthening the already existing cordial relationship between the two clubs saw the captain of VRA Alfred Okang winning the first game 7-3 against Hassan Neindow
The VRA team continued their winning ways as Samuel Lamptey beat Mohammed Suleman 7-3 in a keenly contested game.

The tide however changed in favour of Tamale NEDCO Tennis Club as Sampson Sayibu beat Isaac Narh 7-2 with Dominic Amevor also beating Yaw Akotuah 7-6.

In the doubles event, Dan Aggrey and his partner Commoder Kyaanu set the ball rolling with a 7-3 win over Dan Dadzie and Isaac, Lloyd Newton paired up with Ernest Okyere(Djibobo) to oust Justice and Nii 7-3. C Attivoe and Kweku Boateng added another to the home team beating William and Mohammed 7-4.

Tamale NEDCO Tennis Club also recorded two victories in the doubles as Fatawa/ Hassan defeat Nana Kum and Nii Akwei 7-5. Dominic Amervoh Sampson Sayibu also walloping Dickson brothers (Kow and Ekow) 7-1.
