The administration of Rosebud School in Idimu, Lagos State, has expelled three students whose father, Ayofe Kolawole, violently attacked a teacher, Elizabeth Ogri, and a sanitary worker, Agnes Paul, on October 10, 2024. During a visit to the school's grounds in Igando on Monday, Vivian Shonekan, the public relations officer, provided information regarding the expulsion of Kolawole's children.
On Sunday, a video of a 44-year-old father beating a 34-year-old school employee inside a classroom went viral. Ogri pulled out her phone and started recording the incident while Paul was being physically abused because she was afraid Kolawole would attack her if she stepped in.
As seen in the video, the suspect turned on the teacher and tried to prevent her from filming the incident after realizing he was being filmed. Ayofe Kolawole, the father, said in an interview at the school on Monday that the school had chosen to expel Kolawole's kids because of the incident.
"They came back to apologize and express their regret, asking for a settlement," Shonekan stated. The school clarified that their three children could not return, but they said there was no problem with settling. The children would not be readmitted, the school firmly decided.
