Two police officers suffered injuries following motor rider's attack

The state's Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, disclosed that Oyedepo Samuel and Waheed Quadri, two officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, were allegedly attacked by thugs and tricycle riders in Ibadan while they were carrying out their duties.

Oyelade claims that the officers were attacked with sticks, stones, and iron rods at the Water Corporation gate in Ibadan, resulting in serious injuries. The officers were trying to impound a commercial tricycle that was blocking traffic on the road when the incident happened.

A group of angry tricycle riders and thugs ambushed them as they were delivering the confiscated tricycle to the Agodi Gate command unit. "A good Samaritan stepped in and pulled the officers away from the crowd.

At the state clinic in the Secretariat in Ibadan, the wounded officers are presently undergoing medical care, according to Oyelade. OYRTMA Chairman Major Adekoya Adesagba spoke about the incident. Denounced the assault, pointing out that seven suspects had been taken into custody in relation to it.
