Biography of Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin
Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin was born on September 24, 1957, in Sombo, in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He began his education at Wa Secondary School before proceeding to the University of Ghana, Legon, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and English. He later attended the Ghana School of Law and was called to the Bar in 1982.
Bagbin's political career began in 1992 when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency. He served in this capacity for seven consecutive terms, making him one of Ghana's longest-serving parliamentarians.
During his tenure in Parliament, Hon. Bagbin held various key positions, including Minister for Health, Minister for Water Resources, Works, and Housing, and Majority Leader of Parliament. His contributions to health reforms and infrastructure development have left a lasting impact on Ghana.
