Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku and Black Stars legend Stephen Appiah recently traveled to France to meet with Andre Ayew. The visit comes at a time when Ayew’s omission from Ghana’s latest squad under coach Otto Addo has sparked debate among fans and analysts.
Ayew, Ghana’s longtime captain and one of the nation’s most experienced players, was left out of the squad, a decision that some viewed as a sign of transition within the Black Stars. The exclusion drew reactions, including from Ayew’s camp, with family spokesperson Fiifi Tackie expressing disappointment.
While the details of the meeting remain undisclosed, Okraku and Appiah’s visit signals an effort to maintain strong relations between the national team and one of its most influential players. Whether this meeting will impact Ayew’s future involvement with the Black Stars remains to be seen.
