Afua Asantewaa, popularly known for her valiant attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon, has announced plans to host another edition of the event in Kumasi this December.

In December 2023, Afua Asantewaa captured the attention of the nation with her first singathon, aimed at surpassing the current record held by Sunil Waghmare. Despite her best efforts, she was disqualified after five days of non-stop singing.

In an interview on Akoma FM’s mid-morning show with Tony Best, the event planner and tourism ambassador revealed that she has received clearance from the Guinness World Record to host another singathon, this time in Kumasi.

"I can tell you on your show that, God willing, in December, I will be hosting another singathon, but this time I’m planning to do it in Kumasi,” Afua stated. She added that her team is conducting a feasibility study to determine the best location within the city for the event. The move aims to bring the experience closer to those in the region while also strengthening her role as a tourism ambassador.

Afua Asantewaa remained optimistic despite her previous setback, asserting, “The fact that I was not successful in my first attempt shouldn’t be a barrier to my quest of becoming a Guinness World Record holder.”

With her renewed determination and support, many are eagerly awaiting her second attempt at making history in Kumasi.
