Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party, has advised Ghanaians against voting for former President John Dramani Mahama, citing concerns that his presidency would bring adverse consequences to the country.

He claimed that a vote for Mahama and the National Democratic Congress would lead to a resurgence of challenges such as power outages and health crises and deaths.

Mr. Prempeh made these remarks during a political rally in Ayomso, Ahafo Region, referencing past instances of mismanagement and divine disfavor during the NDC’s tenure, including cholera outbreaks and the Ebola threat.

He urged citizens to vote for the NPP to sustain their initiatives and avoid a return to the difficulties associated with the NDC government.

The dumsor he posisted collapsed businesses and negatively impacted the healthcare sector, threatening the lives of Ghanaians.

“Let’s not vote for Mahama or the NDC. If we vote for the NDC, we will see the return of Dumsor. The dumsor crisis resulted in multiple deaths in Ghana. Those selling ice kenkey were unable to do so because of Dumsor. Fish sellers were likewise unable to sell due to the dumsor. Hairdressing salon owners were unable to operate. “Those who wanted to conduct operations were unable to do so due to the dumsor.”

He indicated that while the current government is building hospitals across the country, the former president is promising to construct mortuaries for Muslims in the Zongo communities.
