The Paramount Chief of the Peki Traditional Area in the Volta Region, Torgbuiga Deiga Kwadzo Dei XII, has praised Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for conducting a decent, issue-focused campaign.

While welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Peki in the South Dayi Constituency during the NPP Flagbearer's campaign tour, Torgbuiga Dei XII commended him for shifting the tone of political discourse in Ghana. He noted that Dr. Bawumia’s approach has moved away from the insults and heated rhetoric that previously dominated Ghanaian politics.

"Political activities in the past were turbulent and full of insults, which are not palatable for our children to learn from," the chief remarked. He observed that since Bawumia was elected NPP Flagbearer, his issue-based campaign has set a positive example.

Although the chief acknowledged that a few instances of threats and insults still occur, he emphasized that Bawumia's style has helped reshape political campaigning in Ghana.

Torgbuiga Deiga Kwadzo Dei XII also clarified that his remarks were genuine, stating, "I don't flatter people... So whatever I say should not be taken as flattery just because the Vice President is here."
