Africa is facing a critical moment, where much of our development is financed by loans and foreign debt. According to the African Development Bank, Africa’s total external debt reached $726 billion in 2021, placing an immense burden on future generations. The current development model leaves us dependent on multinational corporations, who take 90% of loan funds back to their countries, leaving us with debt but no sustainable financial or technical capital to maintain infrastructure.
The African Continental Unity Party (ACUP) is here to change this. We believe that Africans must lead and control the development of our own countries. Where we lack the technical skills, ACUP will invest in sending our citizens abroad to gain mastery or bring technical experts to Africa with the specific mission to train and develop local professionals. These experts will not be mere contractors—they will build the capacity of our people to fully own and manage the continent’s development.
We will no longer sit idle, receiving handouts and leaving our fate in the hands of others. Our development deficit is an asset—it is the foundation on which we can create jobs, build technical knowledge, and accumulate financial capital for the future. According to the United Nations, Africa’s working-age population will exceed 1.1 billion by 2035, providing us with a historic opportunity to harness this demographic dividend for sustainable development.
The ACUP is organizing all serious-minded Africans and technical experts who are ready to contribute their skills, time, and resources to building a new, prosperous Africa. This is a serious call to action for all dedicated Africans. We have participated in building many societies across the globe—it is time to unite and apply that energy to build our home.
Africa’s future can only be secured by Africans. Together, we will reclaim our destiny and create an Africa that thrives on self-reliance, technical excellence, and financial independence. Join ACUP and be part of Africa’s Renaissance.
