Confusion is fast becoming the hallmark of CEO and MD appointments. It’s almost as if top government positions are being reshuffled at whim, with little thought for structure or credibility.

Off the top of my head, the chaos is evident—District Assembly Common Fund Administrator, TOR, GIPC, YEA, and now GNPC. Each of these appointments has been marred by contradictions, reversals, and last-minute changes that leave even the most politically astute observers scratching their heads.

Take Dr. Hannah Bissiw, for instance. Reports suggested she was named as DACFA—only for that to be completely untrue. Then there’s Kombat, who was initially appointed to head Tema Oil Refinery but, within weeks, was reduced to a deputy. The GIPC debacle? A tragic tale in itself.

And just when we thought the drama was settling, BOOM! Edward Bawah gets shifted from GNPC to GOIL, as if the earlier reshuffle of Randy Abbey from GNPC to COCOBOD hadn’t taught any lessons.

This mess is entirely avoidable. The blame falls squarely on those constantly swapping names and designations—you’re embarrassing the President. These reckless moves create instability, shake investor confidence, and fuel unnecessary political controversy.

If leadership is about vision and direction, then someone needs to steady the ship before it veers completely off course.
