The Paramount Chief of Agave Traditional Area, and President of Agave Traditional Council, Togbega Xedihor Hlitabo IV, has been inducted into office as member of the Volta Region House of Chiefs.
In a brief, beautiful and colouful ceremony at the Volta Region House on 15th October,2024, His induction ceremony coincided with Nine other Paramount Chiefs from other traditional areas in the Region.
The Paramount Chiefs were taken through the necessary rites in ensuring their membership of the Regional Body. President of the House, Togbega Tepre Hodo IV, cease the opportunity admonishing the newly sworn-in members to the take the business of the House with all alacrity, seriousness and replicate same in their respective Traditional Councils. He urged them to exhibit exemplary leadership qualities to justify the continued trust in traditional rulers.
Togbega Xedihor Hlitabo IV was accompanied by other high profile Chiefs from the Agave Traditional Area Including his special guests from the Kabiawetsu Division of Ada Traditional Council under the royal leadership of Nene Dr. Tetteh Ayiku Abordonu IV to grace the occasion.
The Regional House of Chiefs is an assemblage of chiefs with deliberative and decisionmaking functions that affects Chieftaincy related activities in a Region. It is a body that is seen as preserving the cultural heritage and the identity of a people of a particular region. It symbolises unity and instil a sense of pride in the people, with the overarching responsibility of developing the indigenous socio-political authority with the aim of developing indigenous political set-up in modern-political systems.
To be called to the house of chiefs signifies a chief worth his sort.
