Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is in grief after student Afia Dedaa Osae-Atuah passed away too soon.

When the incident happened, the victim, a third-year geography student, was on her way to fix her laptop. A "trotro" that had failed its brakes and swerved out of its lane struck her as she stood at the road's shoulder.

An announcement on the university's web page revealed the regrettable news.

"Deeply saddened by the death, the KNUST community has sent its sympathies to Afia's family."

The student body is in shock at this tragic event, and many are demanding tougher laws to stop careless driving in the neighborhood.
