On Thursday, Kofi Asamoah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC), attacked the premises of Salt FM, a small radio station in Asante Akyem Agogo, causing chaos.

The Asante Akim North PC, Mr. Asamoah, was at the station to request an apology and retraction for a supposedly defamatory statement.

Samuel Acheampong, the host of the morning show Anopa Busuo, claimed that Mr. Asamoah had gotten resources and financial help to finance his campaign from the incumbent Member of Parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Supporters of the NDC were alarmed by the remarks and alerted the PC.

Mr. Asamoah and a few NDC supporters rushed the studio after he failed to resolve the matter during a call-in program.

A violent altercation broke out when someone tried to bar him from entering the studio, but no injuries were reported.
