For a people-centered approach to governing, President John Dramani Mahama has urged his appointees to treat Ghanaians with humility, tolerance, and respect.
The President reaffirmed his inaugural address remarks after the swearing-in of six newly appointed ministers at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 22, emphasizing that his administration has an obligation to live up to the high standards set by the people who gave them power.
“Our conduct must reflect humility and an unwavering respect for the people we serve. This government will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect toward Ghanaians, who have placed their trust in us to deliver.” President Mahama stated.
The President emphasized the growing public discontent with those that show arrogance or ignore public concerns.
He exhorted his successors to embrace a style of governance that puts the goals and well-being of the populace first.
In addition, Mahama charged Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, his finance minister, with tackling the country's major economic problems, such as rising living expenses, unemployment, inflation, and infrastructure deficiencies.
"We must remain steadfast in our mission to serve, ensuring that our policies and actions reflect the needs and aspirations of every Ghanaian," he said in closing, restating his dedication to accountability and inclusivity.
