The Ghana Police Service has arrested 9 individuals in connection with the burning of the EC office at Ayensuano in the eastern region.

The arrest follows an incident in the Ayensuano district, where a group of angry youth set fire to the EC office in protest over the delay in the declaration of election results. The fire caused significant damage to the building and its contents.

Eyewitnesses reported that the youth, frustrated by the prolonged wait for the election results, stormed the EC office and set it ablaze. The fire spread rapidly, consuming the entire structure.

In a statement released on the Facebook page for the Ghana Police Service, they stated the arrest of nine individuals associated with such an act.

This, according to the police, sums up to a total of 106, all of whom are currently in police custody.
