Police retrieve vehicle stolen from Ursula’s office

A stolen pickup truck that belonged to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Ablekuma West Member of Parliament, has been found by the Ghana Police Service.

On December 9, 2024, during major turmoil following the December 7 elections, unknown individuals stormed into her workplace and took several items, including the automobile.

In relation to post-election violence, more than 100 people have been taken into custody thus far.

ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Ghana Police Service's Director of Public Affairs, promised the public during a press conference on Thursday, December 12, that there would be continued, stepped-up efforts to restore peace and order.

“Crackdown on perpetrators of the post-election disturbances have resulted in the further arrest of 17 more people over the past 24 hours. The arrest of the 17 people brings to 123, the total number of suspects so far arrested.

“Also, through an intelligence-led operation, We have been able to recover the stolen Nissan Pickup vehicle belonging to Honourable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

“This vehicle was stolen from her office on Monday, December 9, 2024. The vehicle is now in the custody of the Dansoman Police. We are continuing our efforts to get the perpetrators behind this arrested.”
