The Ghana Police Service has begun investigations into seeking the person responsible for damaging the status erected in praise of President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo at sekondi.

On the morning of Monday, December 16, 2024, a noticeable gaping hole was discovered at the back of one of the statue’s legs. It remains unclear whether the damage was deliberate, caused by those opposed to the statue, or the result of a structural defect.

Pictures and videos show the statue's left leg has been damaged and the plaque removed.
