Ransford Gyampo, a political science professor at the University of Ghana, has been appointed the Ghana Shippers Authority's acting CEO.
President John Dramani Mahama announced the appointment, and Prof. Gyampo will take over for Kwesi Baffour Sarpong, who was appointed in December 2024 by the former Akufo-Addo administration.
Respected academic and political commentator Prof. Gyampo is anticipated to contribute his knowledge of public administration and governance to the Authority's leadership, which is crucial in policing Ghana's shipping and logistics industry.
Professor Ransford Edward Van Gyampo was born in Accra on March 31, 1977, and has a long history in academics, public policy, and governance. Most recently, he was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority.
