The National Insurance Commission (NIC) in Ghana's Central Region has taken a proactive step to educate Pragyia drivers and market women at Abura in Cape Coast on the importance of insurance.

The NIC, led by Central Regional Manager Madam Nicholina Naa Yeye Adumuah, met with Pragyia drivers on Tuesday and market women on Wednesday to provide them with information on how to get insured with various insurance companies.

Selected insurance companies were given the opportunity to showcase their products to the drivers and market women, empowering them to make informed decisions about their insurance needs.

Madam Adumuah emphasized that such engagements are crucial in providing education to the general public, particularly those in high-risk professions like driving and market vending.

The NIC also engaged the fire services to educate the market women on how to protect their shops from fire disasters. This move is aimed at promoting fire safety awareness and providing market women with knowledge on what insurance companies can offer in case of a disaster.
