According to a press release from the Ghana Police Service, someone suspected of being involved in the disruptions during the Swedru All Blacks vs. Elmina Sharks Access Bank Division One league game in Elmina has been taken into custody.
Following the game in which the Sharks lost 1-0 to the All Blacks, some officials and players of the Elmina Sharks reportedly physically attacked referee Eso Doh Morrison as a result of the disturbances.
Police have detained Kelvin Aboagye as a suspect in connection with the attack since the Sunday, February 16 incident at Ndoum Stadium.
According to the announcement, Aboagye, who also serves as the general manager of Elmina Sharks, is being held by the police and is helping with the incident's investigation.
