Ghanaian rapper Amerado Burner recently opened up about the timing of his music releases in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A to Z. The conversation touched on how timing can influence the success of a song, though Amerado made it clear that timing doesn’t always determine the outcome.

Kwame Dadzie asked Amerado if he believes in the right timing for song releases, to which Amerado replied, “Yes, I believe in that, but not all the time.” Kwame then referenced his song Date Rush, which was released around the same time as King Paluta's Makoma, a song that made waves.

Amerado explained that there was a plan in place and that he was aware of King Paluta’s release:
"Do you know what happened behind the scenes? Myself and my team, we have plans. Sometimes people make you feel like they think about you more than you think about yourself, which is very bad. King Paluta told me he was going to drop his song, and I told him, ‘Ok bro, drop yours, and I will release mine the following week.’ The fact that Makoma blew up doesn’t mean I should change my plans.”

He further explained that Date Rush has gained significant traction on TikTok and that the song does well when performed at shows. “Not all songs will come out as a monster hit, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their impact. Even with the likes of Amakye Dede and Daddy Lumba, not all their songs had the same impact.”

Amerado’s confidence is backed by his track record. He won Best Rapper at the 3 Music Awards in 2022 and VGMA Best Rapper in 2023. With Date Rush having over 583,000 views on YouTube, alongside hits like Abronoma this year, Amerado proves that consistency and strategic releases keep him relevant in the industry.

His perspective shows that in the music industry, sticking to your plans and understanding the long-term vision is what really counts.
