The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has announced that its members will not be joining the ongoing nationwide strike initiated by Organised Labour. The strike, which aims to push for better economic conditions and improved working standards, has seen the participation of various unions. However, the GRNMA, after internal deliberations, decided to continue their services, prioritizing the health and well-being of patients across the country.
This decision stands in contrast to other unions, such as the Public Utilities Workers Union (PUWU) and UHAS-UTAG, who have supported the strike. The leadership of the GRNMA emphasized their commitment to addressing their concerns through dialogue while maintaining their responsibilities within the healthcare sector.
