Gathering at the residence of the moderator of the General Assembly for the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah showed stewardship once again as an ardent leader in the NDC family when called upon anytime.
On October 24, 2024, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah represented Former President John Dramani Mahama at an evening of Fellowship, Praise, Worship, and Giving held by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Osu. Hosted at the residence of the Moderator of the General Assembly, this uplifting event united church leaders, congregants, and supporters.
Honoring the church’s role in community development, Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah presented a donation of GHS100,000 on behalf of Former President Mahama to support the Kutunse project.
The evening featured spirited praise and worship led by the Potter's Touch Chorale, interwoven with inspiring exhortation from Dr. Abboah-Offei. The Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, emphasized the essential role of community support in nation-building. Speaking to the media afterward, Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah lauded the church's contributions to society, underscoring President Mahama’s commitment to supporting institutions that drive development.
Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah highlighted, “Churches like the Presbyterian Church not only spread the word of God but also build schools, hospitals, and other projects that aid national growth. His Excellency John Mahama values these efforts and is committed to helping empower churches to fulfill such impactful roles.”
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, with over 34 Senior High Schools, 100 Basic Schools, 2 Universities, and several Colleges of Education, has significantly contributed to Ghana’s social infrastructure.
The NDC remains dedicated to supporting Religious Institutions and individuals in their endeavours to advance the nation.
