Ghanaian political and youth activist Precious Agbenya has called on Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Minority Chief Whip, to apologize to former President John Dramani Mahama before demanding an apology from Hon. Emefa Hardcastle over recent political exchanges at the vetting committee.

The MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri once labeled former President Mahama as a “curse” to Ghana, a statement that sparked widespread reactions, especially from supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The statement he refused to apologize for few years ago.

Annoh-Dompreh had yesterday demanded an apology from Hon. Emefa Hardcastle, the new National Petroleum Commission CEO for using the word “silly” during a heated exchange before the vetting for the Minister of Defense designate.

Mr. Preciois Agbenya insists that Annoh-Dompreh must first retract and apologize for his derogatory remarks against the president H.E John Dramani Mahama before holding others accountable for their words. He argues that such statements from political leaders only deepen division and should be addressed with the same urgency as other political disputes.

He called for party faithfuls and youth activists to rally support for Hon. Emefa Hardcastle.

The matter has however been refereed to the speaker of parliament where the National Petroleum Commission CEO has been summoned to appear before the parliament on Thursday.
