Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, former Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the Chief Justice of Ghana of being politically biased.
Speaking on Power FM and TV XYZ, Hon. Afriyie Ankrah went into details how the Supreme Court is interfering into parliamentary affairs.
This comes after the Supreme Court ruled against Speaker Bagbin’s decision to declare some seat vacant.
Hon. Afriyie Ankrah has been vocal about these concerns regarding political bias in Ghana's institutions.
As a seasoned politician, Ankrah has held various positions, including Minister for Youth and Sports, Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, and Director of Elections for the NDC.
Hon. Afriyie Ankrah earlier expressed concerns about the Electoral Commission's partiality towards the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). “We know the EC has a history of doing things to favour the NPP and the government. These things happened in this country and in some cases, BVRs got missing under CCTV and we also discovered a lot of discrepancies recently that they have to correct. They are all deliberate to help the NPP”
