Three vehicles were involved in a collision near Gomoa Otsew on the Apam-Winneba route in the Central Region that is believed to have killed two people and injured numerous more.

One of the casualties was trapped in his car, and it took firefighters a few hours to free him, according to DOII Anthony Kwesi Rhule, the Apam District Fire Service Commander, who oversaw the rescue effort.

According to sources, a Honda Pilot 4x4 vehicle with registration number DE 3440-13, traveling from Apam towards Winneba, collided head-on with a sprinter minibus with registration number GW 5064-24. The two vehicles then spun around and landed on a Kia truck with registration number GW 8308-21, which was traveling towards Winneba while completely loaded with pineapples.

All of the injured have been taken to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for medical care, according to DOII Anthony Kwesi Rhule.

He claims that the driver in control of the Honda Pilot vehicle was at fault for the Thursday night collision due to excessive driving and an improper overtake, according to initial reports collected at the site.
