Alexander Afenyo-Markin has been confirmed by the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) National Council to serve as the Minority Leader for the upcoming 9th Parliament.

In the upcoming session, he will lead the House caucus and stir up party matters.

After losing more than 40 seats to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the party suffered a crushing loss.

Patricia Apiagyei would serve as his deputy minority leader.

Habib Iddrisu has been named First Deputy Minority Whip, and Frank Annoh-Dompreh has been named Chief Whip.

"What I can say is that I thank the National Council for the trust reposed in me and the decision to confirm me to lead my side in Parliament," Mr. Afenyo-Markin said in response to this. Hard work, hard work, hard labor is all I can assure them of. May God lead me.
