Following her loss in the recently concluded parliamentary elections, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ablekuma West seat in the Greater Accra Region, has alluded to the next phase of her life.

"The next chapter in my life is unfolding, so let's see what He (God) has in store for me," the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday, December 14.

The departing minister also expressed gratitude to God in the post for the previous eight years of serving the nation.

"I'm grateful for the chance to serve, Lord," she replied. Additionally, she thanked her supporters, adding, "Thank you, Ablekuma West!!" Sayonara. She is looking "into the future with confidence," the MP said.

In response to the post, many Facebook users commended her for being an effective leader, while others thanked her for her efforts to the constituency and the nation as a whole.

"A wonderful woman in every way." May God richly bless you. One of her fans wrote, "We love you." "You have done your best," another person added. One person called her conceited and advised her to "be humble in your next chapter." Another person said, "God bless you."

In last Saturday's polls, Rev. Kweku Addo, the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated the Communications Minister.

Rev. Addo won the parliamentary election with 31,866 votes, while Mrs Owusu-Ekuful trailed with 26,575.

She is among some notable NPP MPs who have lost their seats to NDC.
