The readiness of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be the next president of Ghana has been affirmed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In a meeting with Organised Labour members on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, President Akufo-Addo stressed that Dr. Bawumia has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience over the last seven years, which has prepared him to effectively manage the country.

The President emphasised that supporting Dr. Bawumia is a vote in favour of development, progress, and continuity.

When I first met my vice president and invited him to join me in politics, he was a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana. After eight years in opposition and eight years in government, I am confident that he has the necessary preparation to be president today. "I implore you to look closely at the elephant when you cast your ballot on Saturday," he said.
