President John Dramani Mahama emphasized the respect he and his predecessor, Nana Akufo-Addo, have always had during his swearing-in address on January 7, 2025.

President Mahama emphasized Ghana's dedication to preserving its democratic principles while reflecting on the peaceful handover of power and expressing gratitude for the democratic maturity demonstrated by the political leadership.

President Mahama recognized in his speech the accomplishments made by former President Akufo-Addo to the country and the role he played in its growth while in office.

He added that despite political disagreements, their relationship, which is marked by mutual respect and cooperation, has always been focused on improving Ghana and its citizens.

"Throughout our respective tenures, Nana Akufo-Addo and I have always shared a deep mutual respect for one another, focused on what is best for Ghana and its people."

During his second term in office, the President used the occasion to reiterate his commitment to promoting national growth, unity, and collaboration.

He gave Ghanaians his word that his administration will prioritize inclusivity, working to give all citizens chances and tackling important issues, especially those related to governance and economic recovery.
