If President-elect John Dramani Mahama takes office, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged him to finish the Agenda 111 hospital projects.

Three of the projects were commissioned by the departing president, while numerous others were in varying degrees of completion.

The President referred to the Agenda 111 hospital project as a pillar of Ghana's healthcare development in his final State of the Nation Address (SONA), which he gave on Friday, January 3, 2025.

According to him, the project is a legacy endeavor that will greatly increase healthcare accessibility.

Additionally, he was hopeful that hospitals would lessen the strain on already-existing institutions once they were finished.

The epidemic exposed some of the concerning flaws in our health care system, and we worked to find ways to make sure we were adequately equipped for the next one. The Agenda 111 project, which added 111 district hospitals and two psychiatric hospitals to the project list, is the most significant intervention. Its goal was to establish a hospital in every area.

"Contractors are deployed and work is underway in two psychiatric institutions and 99 districts. Although it was ultimately not to be, I hope the construction will be finished. I'm happy to say that I had the pleasure of commissioning three district hospitals on December 3.

Between 5% and 95% of the other 98 active sites have hundreds of works. He expressed his hope that the incoming Mahama administration would see to it that the project to expand our health infrastructure was finished.
