A strong declaration regarding the role of politicians in the Ashanti Region's development has been released by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Asantehene emphasized the value of infrastructure and urged a social compact to effectively drive development during a courtesy call by the World Bank Vice President for Western and Central Africa. "Everything will be alright in terms of development provided we have the infrastructure. Politicians cannot be relied upon to guide my growth.

“I don’t want to depend on them, so let’s have a social contract and then we do it,” Otumfuo Osei Tutu II stated.
