In the Bono East area, at Abease on the Prang-Kintampo road, a police officer is said to have shot and killed his comrade.

The regrettable event happened on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

According to information obtained by Adom News, the mourners were their route to the cemetery as part of a funeral procession.

But they ran into a police barricade, which sparked a fight. When a policewoman was allegedly insulted by one of the mourners, the scene became more heated and backup was called.

According to reports, a police officer fired warning bullets during a confrontation between the mourners and the reinforcement team when they first arrived.

The revolver unintentionally went off as the mourners tried to disarm him, wounding his comrade in the abdomen.

After recognizing the damage, the offending cop left the scene. After being taken to a neighbouring clinic, the injured cop was taken to Techiman Hospital, where he tragically passed away from his wounds.
