The National Honours and Awards ceremony, which will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Monday, December 30, will honor notable Ghanaian businessman, philanthropist, and sports administrator Herbert Mensah.

Mr. Mensah will get recognition for his outstanding efforts to philanthropy and sports development in Ghana and throughout Africa. He is now the President of Rugby Africa and a member of the Executive Board of World Rugby.

Having worked in business and management for more than thirty years, he has led innovative projects in a variety of industries, such as corporate social responsibility, football, and rugby.

Throughout his remarkable career, Mr. Mensah, a graduate of the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom, has held important positions, from overseeing distributorships for international brands like Motorola and Nokia in Africa to recreating the history of Kumasi Asante Kotoko as its chairman.

The sport saw tremendous growth in Ghana during his time as president of the Ghana Rugby Football Union.


Beyond athletics, Mr. Mensah has been an ardent supporter of organizations like as the Shen Yang & Shen Yuet Children's Heart Foundation, which helps children with urgent medical needs, and the May 9th Foundation, which aids victims of the horrific 2001 Accra Sports Stadium tragedy.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will preside over the investiture event, which honors those whose commitment and accomplishments have contributed to Ghana's progress.
