In contrast to previous reports that suggested ten guilty individuals obtained clemency, the Office of the President has formally denied issuing any presidential pardons.

The Presidency vehemently denied the allegations, calling them false and advising the public to ignore them in a statement signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications.

The statement stressed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not issued any pardons at all.

This clarification comes after a previous document, supposedly from the same office, that identified people the President had allegedly pardoned was circulated.

Ato Essien, Philip Assibit, and other people convicted of crimes ranging from financial crimes to drug possession and human trafficking were among the people listed in the document.

The public was advised by the Office of the President to only trust communications that had been authenticated.
