Baba Sadiq Abdulai, the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central, has stated that the NDC will secure every seat it gained in the most recent elections in the 9th Parliament.
Baba Sadiq vehemently denounced the Electoral Commission's (EC) re-collection procedure, which threw out a number of NDC victories, in a widely shared video. He also declared that no amount of force could prevent the sworn-in of the elected NDC MPs.
"Not even Nana Addo, the CDS, or the IGP can stop us on December 6 or 5. Jean Mensa will resign from Parliament on the sixth if she is willing. Credibly, we won the elections," he declared.
"This is a strong message for Dome Kwabenya, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Obuasi East," he said, citing certain constituencies. You have failed, Afenyo Markin, if your goal was to continue as the leader of the minority. We're not cowards. The NDC is infused with the blood of revolution, and on January 5th, that revolution will commence.
Any prospect of imposing a state of emergency was downplayed by Baba Sadiq. "No one can use a state of emergency to scare us. Akufo-Addo is gregarious. It's Dr. Bawumia's loss. There is no locus for the IGP. Jean Mensa is unable to choose Ghanaians' Members of Parliament. We put a lot of effort into winning, and each seat we secured will have representation in Parliament.
The Re-Collation Debate
Four previously announced NDC victories were reversed as a result of the EC's recollection exercise on December 21, which was conducted at the Greater Accra Regional Office:
Obuasi East: re-declared for Patrick Boakye-Yiadom (NPP) after first being proclaimed for Samuel Aboagye (NDC).
Tema Central: re-declared for Charles Forson (NPP) after being first proclaimed for Ebi Bright (NDC).
First announced for Christopher Beyere Baasongti (NDC), Techiman South was re-declared for Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah (NPP).
Okaikwei Central: Re-declared for Dr. Patrick Boamah (NPP) after first being declared for Baba Sadiq Abdulai (NDC).
Additionally, seats in Nsawam Adoagyiri, Ahafo Ano South West, and Ahafo Ano North were declared for NPP candidates Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Eric Nana Agyeman-Prempeh, and Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, respectively.
Not sure Constituencies
Two constituencies have not made up their minds:
Ablekuma North: Ewurabena Aubynn of the NDC was proclaimed the victor despite the fact that 62 polling places had yielded no results.
Dome Kwabenya: Mike Oquaye Jr. of the NPP lost to Elikplim Akurugu of the NDC.
Together with four independent candidates, the NDC would gain 181 seats in Parliament as a result of these results.
