Outgoing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia used Twitter to thank the Ghanaian people for their support during his term, just before President-elect John Mahama's swearing-in ceremony.

His eight-year tenure as vice president came to an end with the succinct but sincere post.

"I want to express my gratitude to all Ghanaians for their support during my tenure as Vice President of the Republic from 2017 to 2025," he stated. God bless Ghana, our country.

Under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, Dr. Bawumia's time as vice president was marked by a significant emphasis on infrastructural development, economic reforms, and digitization.

As a former technocrat who entered politics, he was instrumental in promoting measures meant to revolutionize Ghana's economy, especially in the areas of financial inclusion and technology.
