Nana Kwame Bediako, a business magnate and presidential candidate, has donated GH¢50,000 to help traders impacted by the recent terrible fire at Accra's Kantamanto Market.

Nana Kwame Bediako, the leader of the New Force Movement, donated GH¢50,000 to the victims of the recent Kantamanto Market fire as a gesture of support.

On Friday, January 3, 2025, Bediako went to the disaster site and saw the destruction for himself.

He promised to spearhead efforts to restore the market for the impacted dealers in addition to offering financial support.

“What I have started is to raise funds for them. I came here with GH¢50,000 as a token, and we will work together to rebuild the market,” Bediako told the press at Kantamanto.

In addition, he urged Ghanaians to support the affected traders by joining the relief operations and making any contribution they can. He said, "Ghanaians, I beg you to bring whatever you have and let's help the traders who were impacted by the fire."

Some merchants have already started getting the area ready for the reconstruction of their stores in spite of the terrible loss, proving their ability to persevere in the face of hardship.
