To celebrate the first anniversary of her effort to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (Cook-a-thon) by one individual, Executive Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, Chief Executive of Chef Faila's Kitchen, has donated necessary supplies to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).
Toiletries, rice, water, soap, washing powder, buckets, drinks, an undisclosed sum of money, and other items were donated.
Chef Failatu thanked the medical personnel at TTH for their constant support during her cook-a-thon and presented the items to the hospital officials in Tamale.
"Today on this same historic day, I had the entire Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Kamina Barracks Military Hospital coming through for me with wonderful doctors and nurses standing on their feet and running shifts through the day and night for 10 days," she said, expressing her gratitude to the medical staff at the Kamina Barracks Military Hospital.
The cook-a-thon hosted by Chef Failatu ran from January 1, 2024, to January 10, 2024.
She gave advise to the young people, encouraging them to embrace diligence, perseverance, and humility, and she thanked the people, groups, and companies that helped her during the occasion.
"I'm hoping that after seeing me, my fellow young people will decide not to stray. We must abstain from narcotics and other illicit activity," she stated.
On behalf of the hospital, Hajia Rashida Muhammed, Administrator of TTH, accepted the products and conveyed her appreciation.
"TTH cannot accomplish the level of excellence we seek on its own. To assist us reach our objectives, we need the community's and everyone's support," she said.
