Due to the closure of more than five filling stations, Bole and the surrounding areas are experiencing a serious gasoline scarcity.

The only station open at the moment is the Amdaway Filling Station on the Bole-Wa highway, which draws lines of more than fifty riders and vehicles who wait for hours to fill up.

Motorcycles, the principal form of transit in Bole, have been badly disrupted, with many locals resorting to buying petrol in gallons for storage or trekking over 18 kilometers to fill their tanks.

Dari Akwasi, a local resident, expressed concerns that some filling stations may be storing fuel in anticipation of price spikes in the new year.

In order to alleviate transportation issues in the Northern areas, he urged the next administration to give lowering fuel prices top priority.

Adam Seidu lamented that fuel costing between GHS 30 and GHS 50 barely fills a motorbike tank, complicating daily activities such as farming and travel.

He gave Amdaway Filling Station credit for its efforts to give riders much-needed respite.

To meet the tremendous demand, the Amdaway Filling Station, also known as OKasher, has been open for business for more than 12 hours every day, according to the station's management.

Despite the pressure on employees, he reassured people that they would make sure there was fuel available.

Bole locals are looking for quick action to stabilize the situation since the fuel shortage has caused transit disruptions.
